We can point out interesting things as we pedal along and we get to really take in our surroundings in a way that is lost in a car. My daughter has fallen in love so much with the tandem that she can't understand why we don't cycle 365 days a year, even in the snow!
The craic we have together on the bike, the learning opportunities, the fresh air, exercise and the joy of going at a slower pace than the car, are things that truly benefit us enormously.

Although these parent child tandems are utterly fabulous, due to their specialised nature their cost new they can make them inaccessible to many. That is why I am sourcing and selling very good condition second hand tandems to the Irish market. Current prices start at €900.

We purchased a beautiful, bright orange, Companion Tandem from Jill last summer, and we couldn't be happier with it! It is very stylish and very comfortable to cycle especially when your companion joins in with the pedalling! It is ideal for short cycles around our country roads and we are building up stamina to do some longer spins in the summertime. I bring my little girl out to meet the school bus almost every morning; it's lovely for me to have a bit of fresh air and exercise instead of jumping into the car, she loves arriving in style, and there is usually a clamour of older kids wanting a quick spin! We get great acknowledgement from people when we are out and about too and people are always very impressed by the bike. We couldn't be happier with it and highly recommmend Companion Tandems.
